We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen for an experienced Work Based Learning Tutor in our Barrow Centre.
Due to the recent success of a new contract within the centre we are currently looking for a Work Based Learning Tutor to deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessments, to provide mentoring and support to Learners in the workplace, this is in order to achieve targeted outcomes and achievements.
You will have experience of coaching and assessment, delivering a variety of vocational qualifications to learners in employers premises, potential outreach in the community, working to high standards, ensuring the quality of the learner’s journey and completion of targets. You will be responsible for tutoring, mentoring , coaching and delivering to a caseload of learners in the workplace. An aspect of this role will involve you engaging with potential employers to gain leads.
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting delivery in the workplace, with competencies in the likes of Team Leading/Management, Customer Service, Business Administration and Employability, plus many others.
Responsibilities
- Promote PHX learning opportunities and recruit learners to the most appropriate provision.
- Identify individuals' training and support needs as part of the induction process, record this in their training plans. Plan or modify delivery as necessary.
- Instruct learners in the relevant topic in accordance with their abilities and to the content level and quality needed to meet the standards of the qualification.
- By interview, observation and portfolio, assess learners' proficiency against the course syllabus and qualification standards, and ensure the appropriate achievement records are completed.
- Where appropriate, liaise with PHX Training staff to obtain suitable project work to meet the needs of the programme.
- Carry out regular reviews of the learners in order to ensure progress.
- Document and maintain records of attendance, assessment and learner progress, and liaise with appropriate bodies to ensure the learner achieves the award on completion of the course.

Person Specification
- Assessor Qualification or willingness to work towards
- Functional Skills Level 2 Maths/English/IT
- Recognised teaching qualification e.g. PTLLS or equivalent

Salary for a Work Based Learning Tutor
Upto £30,000 per year, dependent on experience
37.5 hours a week
