The opportunity we have:
The School of Construction, Building Services and Automotive at the Stephenson Road campus offer vocational courses from Entry Level to Level 3 across specialist subjects in construction and automotive.
This is an exciting time within Further and Higher Education and we at South Essex Colleges' group are at the heart of the community. South Essex has a large number of industry developments and projects over the next 5 years and the construction industry is at the heart of this.
We work with a plethora of employers and businesses locally and nationally and this is fundamental to ensuring we are meeting local need and the progression of our learners into work or education through the T Level routes, Apprenticeships and Higher Education.
In line with this we need a Lecturer in Brickwork based at our Stephenson Road campus (Basildon College) to teach and develop our learners to achieve their goals. You will be responsible for delivering our City & Guilds and NCFE qualifications starting at Entry Level and moving onto L1 and L2.
Duties within role:
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching in FE.
- Deliver first class teaching to our full time learners from Entry Level up to Level 2.
- Experience of CSCS card delivery would be advantageous
- Expected to teach courses and programmes within the department whilst supporting associated courses and administrative duties
- Expected to undertake tutorial and pastoral duties whilst delivering first class teaching on related subjects.
Person requirement:
- Relevant industry experience is essential
- Previous brickwork teaching within a further education college or equivalent is ideal.
- Qualified in their subject area and hold a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.
- Identify learners’ needs and have effective communication, planning and advisory skills whilst maintaining a positive learning environment
- Motivated and suitably qualified individual to join our dynamic team within the School of Construction, Building Services and Automotive.
