Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Tutor/Assessor specialising in Electrical Engineering to join our educational team. In this role, you will inspire and guide apprentices through their learning journeys, ensuring they develop practical skills and theoretical knowledge essential for success in the electrical engineering field. Your expertise will help foster a stimulating learning environment that promotes confidence and technical proficiency.
You will be a time served Electrical Engineer and hold at least Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (or equivalent) with industry experinece with suitable teacher/assessor qualifications. You will join a small, supportive trade team where your specific skillset will complement the existing expertise of electronics and electrical installation so we are particularly interested in candidates who can bring experience in BS7671/IET Wiring Regulations and electrical principles. You must be genuinely looking to switch to a real and worthwhile career in technical training for industry and willing to work towards achieving a relevant teaching and assessor qualification which will be fully funded.
Experience of platforms such as OneFile and Canvas is desirable, as are good IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.
You should be confident in managing apprenticeship documentation from registration through to end point assessment. During regularly scheduled 'on the job' reviews, you will ensure learner progress in the development of knowledge and skills is aligned to their programme and employer requirements, all to a high standard of quality.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for a Training Officer due to the nature of the role which involves regular travel to engage with apprentices across the Mersey and Cheshire regions and for which mileage, tunnel toll and a monthly car allowance are payable.
There is also scope for the successful candidate to become suitably qualified to carry out Internal Quality Assurance activities to ensure learner portfolios are maintained to the required standard for awarding bodies.

Duties
- Develop engaging and comprehensive curriculum materials tailored to electrical engineering topics, including circuit design, electrical systems, and safety protocols.
- Deliver interactive lessons to enhance understanding and retention of complex concepts.
- Provide one-on-one tutoring and group instruction to apprentices of varying skill levels, ensuring personalised support for each learner’s needs.
- Manage classroom environments effectively, maintaining discipline, encouraging participation, and fostering a positive atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Work with employers to assess learner progress through regular evaluations at the learner's place of work, providing constructive feedback and target setting to support continuous improvement.
- Plan lessons that align with industry standards, certification requirements, and educational best practices in electrical engineering.
- Incorporate special education strategies when working with learners who require additional support.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate learners and clearly explain complex technical concepts.
