Full-Time Vocational & English Tutor – Chesterfield
Salary:£26,000 – £30,000 (Full-Time)
Hours:37.5 hours per week (merged role: Vocational Tutor + English Tutor)
Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them progress into employment, further training, or apprenticeships? We’re looking for a dedicated Vocational & English Tutor to deliver high-quality teaching and mentoring to learners aged 16–18 at our Chesterfield centre.
This newly combined role offers the best of both worlds: practical employability teaching and academic English delivery (GCSE & Functional Skills), giving you the opportunity to make a wide-ranging impact across the study programme.
What You’ll Be Doing
Vocational & Employability Delivery
- Deliver engaging, practical sessions to develop employability, personal development, and vocational skills
- Support learners with CVs, interview skills, work readiness, and career planning
- Provide feedback, track progress, and help learners achieve their individual goals
- Work collaboratively with employers to create meaningful learning experiences
English Delivery (GCSE & Functional Skills)
- Deliver GCSE and Functional Skills English sessions to build literacy, communication, and confidence
- Support learners in reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
- Prepare learners for assessments and track progress to ensure successful outcomes
- Maintain compliance through accurate records, schemes of work, and individual learning plans
What You Bring
- A teaching qualification (PTLLS/AET or equivalent – or willingness to work towards)
- Experience delivering vocational/employability or English (GCSE/Functional Skills) — ideally both
- Passion for supporting learners to succeed
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and IT skills for planning, delivery, and record keeping
- Bonus: Previous experience delivering employability programmes or Functional Skills English
