The Learner Support Team are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, energetic professional to the role of Specialist Support Lecturer. The Learner Support Team provides support and exam access arrangements for students with a range of learning differences, disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical conditions.
The successful candidate will have experience of teaching, supporting, and assessing learners with SpLDs in a Post 16 environment. You will be an active team member with a commitment to delivering an excellent, inclusive, and student-focused service. You will value, encourage, and support diversity and foster a spirit of mutual respect with students and colleagues.
The successful candidate will have:
- a relevant teaching qualification (eg, DTLLS, Cert Ed or other Post 16 equivalent)
- a post-graduate qualification at or equivalent to Level 7, including at least 100 hours relating to individual specialist assessment, and which provides a qualification in access arrangements assessment (courses which are accredited at AMBDA or APC Level would also meet this requirement)
- experience of carrying out cognitive assessments and excellent report writing skills for the purposes of Exam Access Arrangements and Diagnostic SpLD Assessments.
- experience of supporting learners on 1:1 basis with academic work for all levels of Courses.
