The successful candidate will engender a strong team ethos, which promotes a positive, can-do attitude across the department and demonstrate excellent standards of customer service. This role is to provide assessment, coaching and mentoring support to apprentices and work-based learners in the relevant apprenticeship framework or apprenticeship standard to achieve timely success. As a Skills Assessor you will be responsible for an agreed case-load of apprentices/work based-learners and to develop, plan and deliver quality assessment to meet the requirements of the qualification or apprenticeship framework/standard. Main duties include, accurately undertaking necessary documentation and processes as associated with apprenticeship/work-based learning programmes to ensure that the PRC provision remains compliant with funding agency rules. You will also be required to assess apprentices/work-based learners in a timely manner using a wide range of methods that challenge and motivate learners to achieve, providing timely and constructive verbal and written feedback acknowledging strengths and giving a clear understanding on how to improve. You will require a Level 3 qualification in at least one relevant vocational industry as well as a Level 3 Assessment and Quality Assurance. A Level 2 in English and Maths is also essential. You should also have recent experience of working within the relevant industry with high level practical skills. Other key skills include the ability to demonstrate a practical trade professional manner and engage and support children in their learning. It is expected that you will have good written and oral skills to enable you to maintain accurate record keeping and general correspondence. You should also have excellent interpersonal skills, be good at problem solving, and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
