Role Overview:
As part of the team, you’ll be responsible for building strong relationships with key stakeholders. Your primary goal will be to ensure that these contracts receive a high volume of student referrals and are effectively connected with employers to provide employment and apprenticeship opportunities.
Your role will involve employer engagement, where you’ll showcase the benefits of partnering with Workpays. Your success will directly impact all parties involved.
The position can be based either at the Coventry site or in Wolverhampton. However, please note that daily travel to various locations across the West Midlands will be necessary. This travel is essential for engaging with stakeholders and fulfilling the role effectively. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle. This requirement ensures mobility and facilitates travel to different locations.
Key Responsibilities
Employer Partnerships:
- Collaborate with employers to create meaningful partnerships that lead to job and apprenticeship opportunities for our learners.
- Source and enrol learners, ensuring they benefit from West Midlands contracts
Promoting West Midlands Contracts:
- Attend external partnership meetings, Jobs Fairs, and networking events to promote our West Midlands contracts.
- Be an advocate for these contracts, emphasizing their benefits and opportunities.
Guidance and Advice:
- Provide general advice and guidance to learners regarding progression and pre-programme information.
- Specify programme entry criteria to help learners make informed decisions.
Tailored Promotional Materials:
- Research and tailor promotional materials to meet specific employee requirements.
- Motivate learners by showcasing the value of our programmes.
Administrative Excellence:
- Keep administrative procedures up to date throughout the programme lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate tracking documents, monitor returns, and complete funding documentation.
- Ensure compliance with quality procedures and funding requirements.
Team Collaboration:
- Actively participate in team meetings, contributing insights and ideas.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve role-specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

General:
- Maintain an awareness of and actively follow and promote Company policies, including, but not limited to, Safer Recruitment, Data Protection, Information Security, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and Prevent
- Undertake any training as required by Company policy and take responsibility for professional development
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Operations Manager

Essential criteria
- Experience in Business Development and employer engagement
- Experience in providing one-to-one support or coaching to positively influence other people’s professional or personal development
- Knowledge of local labour market and local training providers
- Knowledge of the benefits system and welfare to work programmes
- Demonstrable track record of achieving targets and KPIs
- Understanding of good customer service practices
- Maths and English qualifications at GCSE C/Grade 4 or Functional Skills Level 2
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to vehicle
- Fluent in the English language
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- High-level communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- IT proficient with an ability to use Microsoft Office suite, particularly Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in the further education/ employability and skills training sector
- Information, Advice and Guidance – Level 3 or above
