Lecturer in Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing Grade and salary: Academic salary scale, point 1 to UP3 - £30,620 - £47,331 Hours of work: 37 Contract duration (perm/fixed term): Permanent Job purpose To work within an ambitious and dedicated division in providing the highest forms of education, opportunities and support for our learners and local community. The post holder will have appropriate teaching qualifications (PGCE, QTS,DTLLS, Diploma in Education, etc.)and competency to deliver L1 - L4 You will take responsibility for designing and updating course materials to ensure they align with industry standards regulations and qualifications boards. Deliver engineering units typically in Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, Electrical concepts and Renewable Technologies or any other strengths relevant to the post. You will be responsible of assessing student progress, evaluating student performance through a variety of projects, and practical assignments while falling in line with divisional internal quality assurance systems. Assisting students with questions, problems, and challenges they encounter during their training and providing a positive and supportive tutorial programme. Keeping abreast of developments in the engineering sector, including new technologies, codes, and regulations. You will also contribute to the divisional teaching and learning circle, sharing in good practices and maintaining the highest professional standards. Key Responsibilities 1. To provide high standards in education, training and assessment of Engineering candidates within the college environment and in the workplace. 2. A detailed knowledge of Pearson and EAL qualifications from L1 - L3 and its means of delivery and with capabilities to deliver at HND / Foundation degree level in the near future. 3. Assist with the delivery of Literacy and Numeracy skills in the division 4. To provide support for the quality assurance of Engineering programmes. 5. To maintain a safe working environment at all times. 6. To liaise with employers, including visiting the workplace as directed and becoming available for possible overseas visits supporting learners on international placements. 7. To assist in the maintenance of learner recording systems including tracking documents. 8. To adhere to the College / Division schedule of assessment and reviews. 9. To assist with the College marketing and publicity as and where required and attend marketing and enrolment events. 10. To ensure that all relevant Health and Safety legislative requirements are in place, monitored and regularly reviewed to include up to date risk assessments/COSHH records. 11. To support learners in achieving their aspirations, promote Inspiring Skills competition participation and success. 12. Being proactive in working with learners wishing to obtain apprenticeships or progression to higher education.
