An IT Programme Manager is required for a permanent role paying up to £83,145.46 per annum with British Transport Police (BTP) based in Camden, London.
BTP is the national police Force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year. The world in which we work is fast-paced, operationally and commercially demanding, and constantly changing.
As IT Programme Manager with BTP you will lead on definition, documentation and successful realisation of business outcomes for significant and complex IT programmes. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including technical teams and vendors, to deliver a range of benefits to our end users.
As IT Programme Manager you will be required to:
- Ensure exceptional project and change management is being delivered across the portfolio, using recognised methods and tools.
- Monitor and control resources, costs and benefits against the programme budget and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Provide leadership, development and coaching for BTP’s project management team.
- Ensure the adherence to governance for all IT programmes and projects.
The successful candidate will be required to evidence the following:
- Experience of programme management including delivery of large scale, complex programmes.
- Experience of leading project professionals in a complex environment.
- Experience of writing strategic documents, complex business cases and presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Experience of leading and developing project specialists.
- Strong understanding of a range of project and programme methodologies.
Whilst this post is based at our Technology Department FHQ Camden, we are happy to consider applications from candidates from other locations, with the expectation that the successful candidate is to be present at FHQ two days per week.
