The Role
The Deputy Head of School will support and deputise for the Head of School to ensure the successful running of the curriculum area, providing local leadership of teaching, learning and assessment and supporting the development and effective implementation of the school’s curriculum offer. The Deputy Head of School will work with the Curriculum Team, Progress Leaders, Senior Progress Leaders and where appropriate, director of adults, to ensure high levels student satisfaction, achievement and sustainable progression. As this role also includes teaching responsibilities, you will lead by example in achieving excellence in teaching and learning through your own innovative and excellent professional practice.

The School
The School of Health and Social Care is a diverse school (enrolments c.500) within The City of Liverpool College, predominantly enrolling 16–18-year-olds on Study Programmes along with a robust adult offer. The school is well established with an excellent reputation and links with local employers and stakeholders within the wider city region. Teaching, learning and assessment within the School is good and well aligned to careers, meaning that a learner’s progress into employment, onto other provision within the college or to university at the end of their studies. The School is based at the Learning Exchange with an extensive range of bespoke facilities to meet the specialist programme offer.
