Job title: Deputy Director, Product

Who are we looking for?
We are currently looking for a new Deputy Director - Product to join our ONCAMPUS Marketing team on a full-time, permanent basis.
The Deputy Director - Product is responsible for identifying and creating proposals for new market opportunities, managing and overseeing new digital product development and ensuring existing products are meeting the expected commercial return and recruitment targets.
The post holder will work with the relevant academic leads to create academic overviews and proposals to ensure timely product creation and commercial proposal sign off and support the B2B activity to grow the number of University partners.
Within this role, the post holder will line-manage, coach and provide leadership to the Product team, ensuring they are well-briefed, supported and work effectively with the wider team, delivering on their objectives.

Key responsibilities within this role include:
- Lead the product strategy for the digital and higher education function
- Manage product business cases, monitor commercial success and viability reviews
- Develop, update and execute delivery of the product roadmap
- Write and develop high-level requirement documentation
- Work with the wider team to ensure products are launched effectively and deliver to target.
- Provide insight to the wider stakeholders on product trends, competitor analysis and market needs
- Work with sales and marketing to provide insight on product differentiators and key messages/features and benefits
- Report on agreed key performance indicators.
- Attend events and meetings relevant to the role, some of which may require travel to centres and regional offices.
- Liaise with external suppliers such as developers, marketing and PR agencies to deliver projects as needed.
Key background, experience and skills expected:
- Educated to undergraduate degree level or equivalent qualifications.
- Extensive experience in a product/academic role, within a commercially driven environment.
- Experience with digital product and academic HE development
- Higher Education assessment and standards development
- Line-management experience (desirable).
- Experience of working with Universities and commercial education partners (desirable)
- Strong management skills with a proven track record of delivering new product development to achieve targeted results.
- Strategic thinker with strong planning and project management skills
- Familiarity with product training and awareness raising across a complex business organisation.
- Understanding of both B2B and B2C product offers.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Proven record of delivery and ability to manage multiple projects at any one time.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Negotiation skills
