Chief Examiner - T Level Animal Care And Management/Science - Remote

We are looking for a Chief Examiner to join us for the 2025 development and delivery assessment series and beyond.

Animal Care and Management/Science are routes route within the T Level Agriculture, Environment and Animal Care. Within this route, learners will choose from the Animal Management core pathway and the Animal Science core pathway, as well as their associated occupational specialisms.
We are looking for a Chief Examiner to be responsible for both pathways ie with strong experience in both animal science and animal management/behaviour.
The qualification covers areas including:
- Animal Management and Behaviour: Anatomy and physiology, animal health, animal biology, nutrition, animal behaviour, communication and training, animal husbandry, animal welfare and conservation.
- Animal Management and Science: Anatomy and physiology, cells and tissues, nutrition, animal behaviour, research methods, genetics, evolution, conservation, animal welfare, animal health, animal husbandry, laboratory skills, microbiology and biochemistry.
Among other responsibilities, the Chief Examiner will be required to:
- Maintain and monitor assessment standards
- Advise Principal Examiners and/or Principal Moderators on setting, marking and moderation of assessments
- Prepare for and participate in the scoping and/or setting meeting(s) for Employer Set Projects (ESPs)
- Prepare for and chair the Assessment Material Evaluation Committee (AMEC) meetings
- Attend pre-standardisation of markers meetings as required
- Sample the marking of Principal Examiner(s)
- Attend moderator meetings, as necessary, to monitor the standards of Principal Moderator(s)
- Prepare for and Chair awarding meetings
- Review candidate’s marked evidence when requested by City & Guilds as part of the post results service
- Compile an annual report on the performance of allocated assessments
- Undertake training as requested by City & Guilds
Applicants should have strong industry experience with a passion in supporting learners in an important step in their journey, with a commitment to quality and high standards. Experience in writing and reviewing question papers is welcomed but not necessary.
