SALARY: £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience JOB TYPE: Permanent HOURS: Full Time LOCATION: Hybrid or Stevenage based JOB PURPOSE: Hart Learning and Development (Hart L&D) is part of Hart Learning Group along with North Hertfordshire College, and is a leading provider of Apprenticeships and AEB. Our provision services local needs, but we also have a national offer where we work with large employers to deliver Apprenticeships. This role reports to the Executive Director – Apprenticeships and Partnerships and is part of the Hart L&D Senior Management Team. This is a new role, which is critical to enable Hart L&D to achieve ambitious plans for growth. The remit for the Business Development team will include Apprenticeships locally and nationally, Employability locally and Professional Programmes within Stevenage and Hitchin. You will work closely with the Heads of Department to develop the right solutions for employers. And you will use local data and intel to generate robust employer engagement plans the meet the local skills needs and targets the ‘right’ employers. There are already established relationships with local and national employers. The national portfolio provides lots of potential and opportunities to develop partnerships at a more strategic level, and this will be an area of focus for the Head of Business Development. Fully developed knowledge of Apprenticeship and AEB funding. Experience of managing a team. Proven track record of generating new business. Previous experience of managing and achieving budgets. Extensive experience of using a CRM. Strong organisational skills. Good communications skills – verbal and written. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To deliver year on year growth across Apprenticships and AEB. Produce the annual Business Development Business Plan and associated budget. Develop and deliver an annual Business Development strategy and associated employer engagement plans that respond to local skills needs. Generate new business with employers whose values and intent aligns with those of the College. Ensure that repeat business is secured from existing employers and develop the relationships accordingly. Develop commercial sales opportunities to ensure that the College’s portfolio of provision grows and can meet the needs of employers. To represent Hart L&D and key networking events. To ensure strong relationships are built with employers, providing opportunities for students across the College. Ensure a partnership approach is developed with employers. Develop mutually beneficial relationships, ensuring the employer needs are identified and met. Develop appropriate employer onboarding, due diligence, and TNA tools. Ensure that Hart L&D is the provider of choice with the employers we work with.o lead and manage the Sales team. Develop a workforce plan, ensuring the right levels of resource are in place to achieve success. Lead on performance management processes ensuring appropriate objectives are in place and managed with individuals and for the team. Create a high performing culture. Manage the CRM. Ensure the right processes are in place that drive effectiveness, efficiency, and a high-quality service. Produce reports and analyse data to drive continuous improvement.
