Department
The Department of Language and Linguistic Science at the University of York offers a variety of courses in languages, linguistics, translation and interpreting. We are 1st in the UK for the quality of our research according to the Times Higher Education’s ranking of the latest REF results (2021), and both our teaching and research have been highly rated for a number of years.
Role
- To lecture, lead seminars, tutorials and other forms of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and interpreting (Spanish -> English).
- To develop and apply innovative teaching techniques and materials and contribute to curriculum review and the development of teaching and learning strategies.
- To undertake a range of administrative and support responsibilities.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Needed
- Postgraduate degree in interpreting and translating or a related subject.
- Detailed knowledge in interpreting and translating sufficient to develop teaching and provide relevant learning support to students across different levels of academic ability.
- Highly developed communication skills (oral and written) to engage effectively with a wide-ranging audience.
