This is an exciting time to join the Carnegie School of Education at Leeds Beckett University. As well as becoming one of the best performing providers of teacher education in the country, we’ve developed a reputation for innovation in our teaching, curriculum, and partnership work. We’ve also created a strategy to embed research into everything we do but not just any research – we want to develop research that improves the life chances of children and young people, creating real impact in regional, national and international contexts. We’re also committed to embedding our practice into our extensive partnership, funding collaborative practitioner research in schools, evaluating private sector corporate and social responsibility projects and supporting social enterprises to build capacity. Amongst all staff there is a strong commitment to social justice, and this informs all we do at the Carnegie School of Education.
As a result of growing student numbers, we’re seeking to appoint an inspirational Lecturer in Psychology and Education. Successful candidates will be based within the Interdisciplinary Studies department which hosts the Carnegie School of Educations non-QTS programmes and will be required to teach across both undergraduate and postgraduate provision. With highly motivated staff, a rapidly growing research culture and a large, effective partnership across the north, the successful candidate will bring a passion for the subject, for inclusive education, and will contribute to our reputation as an innovative, values-based School of Education. Candidates should have an academic background in psychology as applied within educational settings. It is essential that they hold a Master’s degree (or professional equivalent).
Potential candidates are encouraged to make informal contact with the Head of Subject, Dr Nicole Gridleyn.gridley@leedsbeckett.ac.uk.
