OverviewThe Senior Lecturer (Social Work) post is based within the Institute of Management and Health and reports to the Academic Director. The role includes operational responsibility for one or more postgraduate Social Work programmes, with potential for future expansion. The post holder will lead the delivery, assessment, monitoring and evaluation of these programmes, while providing academic leadership, guidance and support to a small team of staff.ResponsibilitiesLead the delivery, assessment, monitoring and evaluation of postgraduate Social Work programmes.Provide academic leadership, guidance and support to a small team of staff.Ensure programmes are delivered in line with Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) standards and university policies and procedures.Contribute to enhancing the overall student experience, providing academic and pastoral support.Teach across undergraduate to postgraduate levels, including supervision of dissertations.Engage in scholarship, research, training and project work; pursue funding opportunities and contribute to knowledge transfer.Develop external partnerships and engage with professional networks to achieve recognition in the field.Hold a significant leadership or managerial role within the academic discipline or institute and contribute to daily operations.Ensure teaching is rigorous and vocationally relevant, using innovative learning and assessment approaches aligned with Social Care Wales standards.Participate in operational activities such as student recruitment, marketing initiatives, research events, staff development and training.Qualifications and RequirementsUp-to-date professional experience as a Social Work practitioner.Commitment to widening participation and inclusivity.Flexibility to teach across multiple campuses in South Wales and engage a diverse student body with adaptable teaching methods.Ability to communicate and work through the medium of Welsh is essential for this post.This post is subject to a DBS check (Enhanced with Adults Barred).Additional InformationAnnual leave entitlement is 35 days, plus 8 bank holidays and 4 University closure days pro rata.This post may be eligible for sponsorship.Application process does not include submitting a CV; assessment is based on the application and supporting statement.Closing date: 04/06/2026Interview date: TBCSalary: £48,822 to £58,225 per annum, pro rata#J-18808-Ljbffr
