Animal Care Technician
TERM TIME ONLY POSITIONThis role is for 35 hours, term time only, the salary quoted is an annual full time figure and will be pro rata in accordance with this. Do you have a passion for animal welfare?

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Animal Care Technician to support our 14-19 Post 16 provision. This is a varied and rewarding role combining animal care, learner support, and lesson cover, ideal for someone passionate about education and animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing daily care and welfare for a range of animals, including feeding, cleaning, handling, and health monitoring
- Maintaining high standards of animal husbandry in line with welfare and safeguarding requirements
- Supporting teaching staff during practical and classroom-based animal care sessions
- Covering lessons when required, delivering pre planned learning activities and ensuring a positive and safe learning environment
- Preparing practical resources, equipment, and learning spaces
- Supporting learners aged 14-19, encouraging engagement, independence, and safe working practices
- Assisting with risk assessments, health and safety checks, and record keeping
- Helping maintain animal accommodation, equipment, and learning facilities
