END POINT ASSESSOR (EPA) - WATER PROCESS TECHNICIAN PART TIME / FLEXIBLE ROLE INTRO
V Selective are recruiting on behalf of an Ofqual recognised Apprenticeship End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO). As an organisation they are committed to quality, and deliver a rigorous apprenticeship end point assessment service. Their service helps to ensure that apprentices, working within a range of industries, are able to do the job they are trained for.
They currently require End Point Assessors (EPAs) for the Water Process Technician standard, to join their bank of Independent End Point Assessors.
STANDARD - WATER PROCESS TECHNICIAN
For this standard there are 2 options: one of which you must be competent to assess.
- Water treatment process technician
- Wastewater treatment process technician
Technicians work at treatment sites and may need to drive between sites. They work in all weather conditions and may need to assume standby duties or work outside normal hours as part of a 24‑hour, seven‑day operation.
The broad purpose of the occupation is to maintain site process standards for water or wastewater.
Water treatment technicians maintain and ensure the safe supply of drinking water, involving abstraction of raw water, treatment, and supply into the distribution network. They balance water production with network demand and manage onsite waste processes such as sludge management, off‑site discharges, and general wastes (oils, paper and food).
Wastewater treatment technicians maintain the removal and treatment of wastewater, monitoring processes such as preliminary (e.g., storm), primary settlement, biological and chemical treatment, tertiary and sludge treatment. They manage sludge preparation, storage and liaise with sludge processing facilities.
THE ROLEThe role is offered on a flexible basis via a zero‑hour contract. Hours available vary with demand and registered EPAs can choose assignments based on their availability. The role may be undertaken in addition to an existing substantive position with permission from the current employer or as part of a broader portfolio of activities.
Upon accepting assignments from the Service Delivery team, you will deliver end‑point assessment for the Water Treatment Technician apprenticeship standard and the assessment method for which you are approved.
You will undertake remote or on‑site end‑point assessment activities, including practical observations and technical interviews, awarding a preliminary grade and ensuring that all assessment decisions are fair, objective, free of bias and based on all relevant evidence presented.
You will accurately record the outcomes of all end‑point assessment activity using assessment materials, submitting these records within the required timescales.
