The Team and Focus of the Role
We are dedicated and passionate about encouraging the next generation into Surveying and Property, so we are building a new team to focus on attraction into the industry through various pathways and engaging with a wider audience across the UK. As our new Early Careers Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and introducing the next generation into our business whilst also taking line management responsibility for an Administrator and Talent Ambassador.
You’ll be key in shaping our strategy and managing every stage of our Early Careers cycle — from graduate, placement and summer internship interviews, building relationships with our key universities, advising the wider business on best practice within the Early Careers industry aligning to the businesses wider 5 year strategy, supporting our colleagues through their APC, AssocRICS and Apprenticeship pathways, all the way to working with our wider Marketing and External Communications team to ensure we are the best in class.

Based at our Birmingham or Ashby de la Zouch office within our hybrid working model, the role includes travel to other offices and universities. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours), typically 8.45am – 5.15pm, with the understanding that hours may vary slightly during events and interviewing cycles.

Duties will include:
· Being responsible for leading, shaping and implementing our Early Careers Strategy
· Proactively assessing new opportunities to enhance or widen our Early Careers cohort
· Attending university and school events as required
· Creating and managing the Early Careers budget
· Benchmarking across the industry
· Management of our Virtual Insights Programme
· Managing our Early Careers cohort through their training cycle with us (APC, Assoc RICS, Apprenticeships, etc)
· Attending and speaking at training and university events
· Working closely with the Early Careers Administrator and Talent Ambassador and wider People team
· Managing the interview cycles for all graduate, placement and summer internship hires
· Assessing candidates via screening calls
· Developing and maintaining long term professional relationships with educational institutions
· Working with the wider Early Careers team to develop training days
· Assisting the induction process for early careers and advising new starters on their APC enrolment process or any relevant enrolment process required
· Line Management responsibilities for the Early Careers Administrator and Talent Ambassador
· Adhoc duties as required
The successful candidate will have...
· Previous early careers experience
· Professional Services experience (desirable)
· Knowledge of the APC process (desirable)
· Previous line management responsibilities
· High attention to detail
· Experience of speaking at events
· Proactive in identifying and advising on process improvements
· Great communication both internally and externally
· The ability to work well within a team and independently
· Inquisitive and forward thinking to maximise early careers opportunities and emerging trends
