The Role
We welcome applications for a full-time or part-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Marketing. You will contribute primarily to teaching across our specialist undergraduate and postgraduate marketing courses, with opportunities to play a role in the development of new and evolving provision.
You will deliver engaging, innovative teaching that places student success at its heart, ensuring an outstanding educational experience for a diverse student body. We welcome applicants from a broad range of marketing backgrounds and particularly value colleagues who can draw on contemporary marketing practice, consumer behaviour, and the use of marketing analytics to inform decision-making.
Through your teaching, you will support students to develop strong professional identities and industry-ready portfolios, applying theory to practice through live briefs, applied projects and meaningful employer engagement.
At Lecturer level, you will contribute to teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise student projects, and engage in pedagogic innovation.
At Senior Lecturer level, we expect evidence of leadership in curriculum design, programme development, or student experience initiatives, along with substantial teaching experience.
This role is primarily teaching-focused, and ideal for those who are passionate about delivering outstanding student learning and experience through evidence-informed and reflective practice. Whether you specialise in innovative pedagogy, inclusive curriculum design or practice-based education, you’ll be encouraged to share and develop your expertise. All academic staff benefit from dedicated time for professional development, pedagogic research, and dissemination of teaching practice, with opportunities for progression and recognition through the Learning and Teaching pathway. We welcome applications from those new to higher education, and practitioners who wish to develop a career teaching in a University.
We support agile working and offer flexibility where this is compatible with the specific academic role. Outside of required on-campus commitments (including teaching, student support and key in-person events such as open days and graduations) duties may be undertaken remotely within the UK, subject to agreement. You will be expected to manage your working location so that all on-campus responsibilities are met.
For an informal conversation about the role please contact Deputy Dean and Head of Department (Management and Enterprise) Dr Miral Metawie
