Founded in 1902, UCL Institute of Education has been shaping policy and helping government, organisations and individuals navigate a changing society for the last 120 years. We embrace collaboration and excellence to create a future that is inclusive and just and have been ranked number one for education every year since 2014 in the QS World University Rankings by Subject.
The PASHE programme is an academically challenging and intensive pre-sessional course that runs in the summer, with 11- and 8-week entry points. The students are preparing for entry to the Institute of Education’s undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes.
Key aspects of the role include assessing student progress and attainment, promoting and directing personal and independent learning through one-to-one tutorials, and ensuring that the course provides the best possible academic and English language preparation for prospective UCL Institute of Education students.
Course Delivery and Dates
The PASHE programme will be delivered fully online in 2026 and the dates are:
- Associate Lecturer Induction: 01 June – 05 June
- Teaching & Assessments: 08 June – 21 August
- Post-Teaching Administration Week: 24 – 28 August
The course dates include five full days of paid induction on the Monday to Friday immediately before teaching commences, and a post-teaching administration week.
Due to the intense, complex nature of the course, applicants must be available for the entire duration of the programme, including the induction and administration weeks.

- Please include a CV with your application.
- When applying, please do not upload copies of published papers or other academic work – they will not be considered as part of the shortlisting process.

- Candidates must be based in the UK and be willing to travel to the UCL Bloomsbury campus in London for right to work and DBS checks, as needed.
