The ServiceNorthumberland Skills is an expanding service offering residents a variety of full- and part-time courses, apprenticeships, and employability advice and support. We deliver several contracts, including Connect to Work and a new Triage Service. As an Employment Adviser, your primary role is to support unemployed jobseekers (participants) in finding and sustaining employment. This is a fully face-to-face role, and you will manage a caseload, provide direct employment support, and engage with employers to identify sustainable job opportunities. We are seeking someone with experience in similar or transferable roles. Your responsibilities will include:
- Meeting with a high volume of participants to identify employment challenges and create personalised action plans.
- Offering Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) to address employment barriers.
- Liaising with employers and recruitment agencies to find suitable job opportunities.
- Providing your customers with a programme of support that will lead to sustained employment, informed by local labour market needs.
- Assisting with CV writing and the job application process including interview coaching.
- Supporting jobseekers face-to-face across our campuses, meeting customer service standards and KPIs.
- Completing compliant customer paperwork following programme guidance and using CRM systems to capture accurate information.
You should have a can-do attitude and experience in achieving performance and quality assurance targets in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. You must manage your workload effectively, work autonomously and as part of a team, and be responsive to new demands.
