Our client, a leading educational provider in Birmingham, West Midlands, UK , is seeking an experienced and dedicated Apprenticeship Programme Manager to oversee the development and delivery of their technical skills apprenticeship programmes. This is a vital role focused on nurturing the next generation of industry professionals through high-quality vocational training and development. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the apprenticeship lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to ensuring the successful completion and progression of apprentices.
Responsibilities: Oversee the end-to-end management of technical skills apprenticeship programmes, ensuring alignment with industry standards and awarding body requirements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers, understanding their training needs and ensuring apprenticeship programmes meet their expectations. Recruit, onboard, and support apprentices throughout their training journey, providing guidance and mentorship. Manage a team of trainers, assessors, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Monitor apprentice progress, conduct regular reviews, and implement interventions to address any performance or engagement issues. Ensure compliance with all relevant apprenticeship funding rules, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Contribute to the design and enhancement of apprenticeship curricula and training materials. Develop and deliver engaging presentations to potential employers and apprentices. Manage programme budgets and resources effectively to ensure financial sustainability and efficiency. Participate in quality assurance processes and external audits to maintain high standards. Collaborate with internal teams to promote apprenticeship opportunities and attract a diverse range of applicants. Qualifications and Experience: Relevant qualification in Education, Training, Human Resources, or a related field. Proven experience in managing apprenticeship programmes, ideally within a technical or vocational sector. Strong understanding of the UK apprenticeship landscape, funding mechanisms, and quality assurance frameworks. Experience in stakeholder management, particularly with employers and awarding bodies. Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to motivate and support learners from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency in relevant IT systems and Microsoft Office Suite. A background in a technical industry (e.g., engineering, IT, manufacturing) would be advantageous. Willingness to adopt a hybrid working approach, balancing remote administrative tasks with on-site engagement.
