Initial teacher training (ITT) at Plymouth Marjon University has a considerable history, stretching back over 180 years. We would welcome applications from candidates who wish to make a substantive contribution to primary PGCE programmes with the following experience and credentials:
Essential
· Holds UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
· Holds a Master’s degree or has equivalent professional experience
· Has recent school experience teaching the national curriculum (England)
· Has a specialism in primary professional studies and one or more of the following subjects: geography, science or maths
· Has a track record of keeping up to date with evidence informed practice
· Has experience supporting trainee teachers and/or early career teachers
Desirable
· Has experience of contributing to the delivery of ITT primary QTS provision
· Has experience of ITT curriculum and programme design
· Has a doctorate or is enrolled currently in a doctoral degree programme

Main responsibilities
· Preparing trainee teachers: drawing on your knowledge and teaching expertise to ensure trainees are evidence informed and ‘school-ready’.
· Teaching: designing and delivering innovative teaching sessions, fostering an inclusive environment for all and marking assignments.
· Quality Assurance of placement experiences: visiting trainees on placement, supporting school mentors and tracking trainee progress.
· Recruitment: interviewing and selecting appropriate trainees for the PGCE course and supporting recruitment events.
· Pastoral support continuing our unprecedented success in student satisfaction by providing pastoral and academic support to our trainees.
