Following the retirement of the previous post holder we are seeking to recruit a full time mental health welfare officer within the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service based at St Johns, Sedgley Park.
We are looking for applicants with a broad experience in working within a welfare setting to join the Mental Health Team to support the mental health wellbeing of GMP’s officers and staff referred into the service.
The successful candidate will be required to be registered with the BACP, (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy) and have experience of supporting individuals through assessment, advice, and guidance to sustain being in work or returning to work. There is a requirement to liaise directly with management/supervision and as required work in conjunction with HR.
This role requires a good knowledge of systems for administering welfare issues/case working and the ability to work effectively both within a team setting and independently. Therefore significant 'case working' skills are essential to this role as the successful candidate will carry a case load and will be expected to determine and refer individuals to the most appropriate internal or external support/therapy pathways.
