We are looking for a Tutorial Learning Mentor (TLM) to embed tutorial processes and assist apprentices on their learning journey, ensuring that they receive a high standard of support, advice and guidance. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the pastoral needs of apprentices and be both learner and employer focused. You will work with learners in 1:1 or small groups to implement strategies to support building self-esteem and confidence. This will include supporting the transition from School to College or from year to year for learners already identified as at risk. Our new Tutorial Learning Mentor will set targets with learners and monitor outcomes to encourage success. You will develop strategies to help apprentices who are underperforming to understand why and to seek solutions moving forward. This will include developing small group activities to foster peer support, anger management sessions, fundamental British Values, skills and behaviours. Strong communication skills and a personable approach are key in this role, as progress and updates should be communicated effectively with parents’, guardians and external agencies regarding the learners.
