Perth & Blairgowrie (Base tbc)
Scotland has undertaken a review of the care system over the past three years the conclusion and recommendations following the review are laid out within "The Promise".
As part of Perth and Kinross's commitment to implement The Promise along with a focus on universal family support, the Families Empowering Communities Team was established. Building on the success of this project in Crieff and Letham, funding is available to expand the project to Blairgowrie, Bertha Park and Muirton.
This post will be part of this project with a focus on the Blairgowrie Community and will engage with children, young people and families who experience disadvantage. The purpose will be to engage with families and identify supports which will enable parents, children and young people to experience success in their local school and community.
The post will be part of a small team under the direction of an experienced Community Learning and Development Team Leader.

You must have experience of working in a relevant discipline such as Social Care, Community Learning & Development, Health, Social Work or Education.
You must have experience and skills in engaging with parents, children and young people. You must be able to work in 1-2-1 situations as well as group work.
You will have experience of managing a caseload.
You will be creative in leading and developing programmes of learning reflective of the families needs, issues/concerns.
Ideally you will have experience of community engagement and an understanding of child protection and the care care system.
you will have an understanding of trauma informed care/practice and a knowledge and understanding of child development and of working in partnership with other services/organisations.
You must have good communication and listening skills and be able to develop appropriate relationships with families.
You must be enthusiastic and highly motivated and able to share this with service users.
You must have a flexible approach and be able to work evenings and weekend, occasionally if required.
You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
