The School of Construction, Building Services and Automotive at the Stephenson Road campus offer vocational courses from Entry Level to Level 3 across specialist subjects in construction and automotive.
This is an exciting time within Further and Higher Education and we at South Essex Colleges' group are at the heart of the community. South Essex has a large number of industry developments and projects over the next 5 years and the construction industry is at the heart of this.
We work with a plethora of employers and businesses locally and nationally and this is fundamental to ensuring we are meeting local need and the progression of our learners into work or education through the T Level routes, Apprenticeships and Higher Education.
In line with this, we need a Lecturer in Carpentry (T-Levels) based at our Stephenson Road campus (Basildon College) to teach and develop our learners to achieve their goals. You will be responsible for designing, developing and assessing T-Level programmes for full and part-time students in Carpentry.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Carpentry
- Previous experience delivering Carpentry courses up to level 2, with exposure to T-Levels.
- A broad range of knowledge of the construction industry.
- Experience working with young people of varying abilities to develop their confidence
- Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Assessors and IQA qualifications or willingness to work towards one.
- Has Health & Safety qualification/ or relevant experience or willing to gain these
- Has relevant industry/professional experience within the relevant sector.
- Has knowledge of current developments in relevant vocational area.
- You'll also have exceptional organisational skills combined with good IT knowledge and sound administration skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to effectively motivate and inspire others.
