The Lecturer in Outdoor Education & Uniformed Protective Services Role:
As a Lecturer in Outdoor Education & Uniformed Protective Services, you will deliver high-quality and effective teaching and learning to Bournemouth and
Poole College students Level 1-3 Outdoor Education & UPS. You will also act as a personal tutor to students.
Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Outdoor Education & Uniformed Protective Services will include:
- Contributing to the development and delivery of all our Public Services and Sport courses
- Contributing to high-quality learning experiences using a variety of teaching and learning methods based on current best available practice
- Creating an outstanding student experience which leads to progression or employment
- Providing academic and pastoral support to students in accordance with agreed procedures
- Participating in the College’s appraisal process and to undertake any training that may be appropriate
- The above list of duties is not exhaustive and is subject to change. The post holder may be required to undertake other duties within the scope and grading of the post.
As our Lecturer in Outdoor Education & Uniformed Protective Services, you’ll ideally have:
- Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths Teaching Qualification or willingness to achieve within 2 years.
- Minimum Level 3 or Graduate (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area such as level 3 BTEC Outdoor Education or Uniformed Public Services
- Work experience facilitating learning for students in Further or Higher Education or an appropriate workplace setting, for example school
- Knowledge of current evidence-based practice in Uniformed Public Services and Sports & Fitness
- Focused on team working
- Good communication skills
- Proven ability to plan and organise own workload
- Leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate, engage and enthuse learners
- Full driving licence with ability to drive a minibus
