The Department consists of a 12 bedded Medical Short Stay Unit and 30 bedded Acute Medical Unit.
We care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions and strive to deliver high quality nursing care based on current evidence, in a fast dynamic environment. We work closely with our Medical colleagues and MDT in order to meet the increasing demands of the service whilst retaining our commitment to patient centred care.
We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic individual to join our team who have an interest in acute medicine and a commitment deliver to safe effective care.
If you are ready for a challenge we can assist you in your personal development. 2 year post registration is essential and you must have mentoring and assessing training. Support and training will be given to develop essential managerial skills and leadership.

The post holder will contribute to the development of the ward team and support the Ward Manager in the delivery of a consistently high quality and cost effective service.
The Learning Lead element of the role, will involve supporting new and existing staff on the ward. Carrying out clinical supervision of staff and supporting staff .
The Learning lead supports the development of the ward team. Providing clinical leadership and establishing high quality learning environments through teaching and assessment, supporting all new starters and learners within the ward environment.
Provide teaching and support to all staff who are supervising and assessing all new starters and learners.
Working closely with the practice development team, the apprenticeship team and the learning and development department to support a coordinated approach to education, training and professional development.
Supporting staff in the development of competence and confidence in the delivery of high standards of care whilst being responsive to the needs of patients, relatives and carers as well as service demands.
To deputise for the Ward Manager as required.
