JOB OVERVIEW - Lead IQA
We are seeking a multi-skilled Lead IQA. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and focused individual who has a genuine passion for excellence in service delivery.
Responsible for the management of internal quality assurance across our provision, overseeing the development of Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) activity, processes and standardisation to improve quality standards in all sectors. Sector expert on the roll-out of curriculum developments including the launch of new qualifications and evolving learner delivery models.
This role is primary based in our Centre in Woolwich but may require visiting other locations across UK
This role reports to the Quality Manager and Centre Manager
Main Responsibilities:
People:
- Ensures own CPD and professional competency is maintained
- Develops the skills, knowledge and CPD of team members through identified upskilling activity to ensure excellent personal development strategies are maintained across our provision.
- Carries out monthly meeting with all delivery staff and IQA’s for CPD, learner progression and quality monitoring
- Undertake OTLA on site, off site or online of delivery staff to support self-improvement
- Strives to maintain positive working relationships across the team
- Maintains a flexible approach to support the team and the wider business
Quality & Compliance:
- Develops the company wide verification sampling plan and facilitates its implementation across dedicated sectors. Reporting risk and risk reduction monthly to key stakeholders
- Oversees all aspects of the quality assurance process within all sectors.
- Ensure IQA activities are completed in line with awarding body requirement, maintaining standards and direct claim status across all qualifications
- Manage, monitor and complete activities to key timeframes and awarding body certification windows
- Lead and support standardisation meetings both formal and informal across the curriculum department; ensuring that AO standards are maintained.
- Lead on Quality Assurance including self-assessment and quality improvement in curriculum areas, focusing on improving the quality of teaching, learning and assessment and improving learner outcomes, and ensuring the curriculum areas is inspection ready.
- Supports the achievement of quality KPI’s with the delivery staff
- Leads EQA activity for all sectors, ensuring relevant team members are fully trained and competent to support learners ahead of being entered for EQA
- Monitor under performance of quality KPI’s and support sector managers to take remedial action
- Carry out monthly meeting with Quality Manager/Centre Manager at least once a month or as required to report on delivery staff performance, quality KPI’s
- Produce and communicate reports, to ensure managers have accurate information regarding IQA and EQA activity
- Lead on the embedding of the virtual leaning initiative to allow for a broadening of learning opportunities for all learners.
- Keep up to date with and adhere to company, policies and procedures at all times
- Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding. Playing your part to protect colleagues and learners against all types of bullying, radicalisation or abuse
- Take responsibility for the protection of data in line with policies and procedures
Stakeholders:
- Engages with key stakeholders to develop and share best practice
- Leads all external quality assurance visits, ensuring Awarding Body are adhered to and centre status is retained
- Develop and maintain appropriate strategic partnerships, both internal and external, that support best practice, promote learner access, and facilitate learner progress.
- Maintain regular contact with EQA’s for verification support and business requirements
- Producing/updating/monitoring all quality policies and procedures on an annual basis
- Support internal stakeholders with accurate forecasting of learner activity and providing information and documents as required
- Actively participate with external stakeholders in audits and quality inspections
- Supports creation of course curriculum ensuring to meet the needs of all stakeholders and is in line with requirements to enhance teaching, learning and assessment
- Promotes a positive and professional image of the company and all the services it delivers through excellent customer service

CANDIDATE SKILLS - Lead IQA
What we are looking for:
Knowledge & Desirable Experience
- Extensive working knowledge of the adult education sector including apprenticeships
- Experience of managing a team of competent skills tutors or IQA’s
- Ability to drive improvements through IQA interventions that support the sector and business needs
Qualifications
- Level 2 English and maths
- A1 assessor award or equivalent (Essential)
- V1 verifier award or equivalent (Essential)
- Management level 4 or equivalent (Desirable)
Skills
- Competent in the use and purpose of technology with strong IT skills in Microsoft office, learner management systems and Virtual learning environments
- Coaching and mentoring of team member to improve performance
- Organisational skills and a sound attention to detail
- Excellent numeracy skills
