We have up to ten Intern places available across our Finance teams with roles covering the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO); Business Process and Finance Transformation; Executive Reward; Finance Business Partnering; Procurement; Internal Audit; and Treasury. You’ll also have direct access to a senior member of the team, as you’ll be mentored to help you make the most of the 10-week program. About the Finance Business Partnering English Language Learning Internship
There are 3bn language learners today of which 50% are learning English. Research shows that non-native English speakers can earn 30-50% the national average salary if they can build and prove their proficiency in English.
The English Language Learning (ELL) division has powered growth in sales and profitability for Pearson (along with Assessment & Qualifications) over the last 3 years with consecutive double-digit growth each year. We are a creative and fun team that is at the leading edge of innovation leveraging many of the latest technologies including AI to help improve the outcomes of language learners around the world.
Our finance team is a diverse range of very talented professionals with a wonderful mix of genders and nationalities based in multiple locations around the world. We have multiple business operating models from direct markets, joint ventures, partnerships and more. Working with us, you will get to see a truly diverse range of views and experiences. This will help you become a much more rounded finance professional in the longer term.
Activities and responsibilities include:
- Work directly with the VP Sales and Operations and overall VP finance for ELL.
- Help to create new financial models to better prepare scenarios for where we can take our business from opportunity & risk point of view.
- Learn excel to a deep level.
- Develop a set of skills around forecasting, modelling and scenario analysis that will help them whatever financial role they want to take after the experience.
Key requirements
- Second or final year student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Prior coursework or experience in financial analysis, business partnering, or corporate finance is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with financial systems (e.g., ERP, EPM) and business intelligence tools is a plus.

This is a 10-week internship programme, commencing Monday 3 June 2024 . You will be paid for the duration of your internship at a pro-rata salary of £25,642.
