From £44,411 - £52,225 per annum

About the College
- Middlesbrough College is the largest General Further Education College in the Tees Valley and has been situated in Middlehaven, Middlesbrough, since 2008. It has developed from the initial main site to the vibrant campus that is now in place with our Campus Heart, dedicated Sixth Form, STEM Centre, Higher Education Centre, and further development for our apprentices in progress.
- The College provides excellent facilities for approximately 13,000 students from across the region and whilst we are very proud of our campus and the equipment our students have access to, we are clear that it is the experience and dedication of our staff that make a positive difference to the lives of our students, helping them to achieve their educational goals and progress into work, higher education, or apprenticeships.
- In 2020/2021, 96% of learners following a study programme attained a positive destination into further training, apprenticeship, or employment. About the role
The Head of Workforce Development will directly report to the Vice Principal Human Resources and will be responsible for supporting the development of strategies to improve workforce performance, induction and onboarding, communication and staff wellbeing.
The successful candidate will have:
Qualifications
- Degree level educated (or equivalent experience).
- Personal commitment to Continuous Professional Development.
Desirable
- CIPD qualified.
- Qualified within an education, training, learning and development subject
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of best practice and employer engagement arrangements.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the further education environment - Desirable
- The ability to optimise digital technology systems to transform working practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage and influence colleagues at all levels within the organisation.
- To be a proactive driver of change.
- The ability to motivate and drive improvements in our key services and processes.
- Effective management skills and the ability to motivate others to achieve their potential.
- Highly proactive style of work, with a demonstrated track record of developing innovative approaches.

- A team player with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
Experience
- Demonstrable experience of operating as a L&D lead across a complex organisation.
- Experience of implementing, developing and streamlining L&D processes that are accessible, using systems that enable staff and managers to work effectively.
- Experience of the development of staff engagement strategies and the improvement of communication, morale and staff wellbeing.
