The Head of School will report to the Director of Curriculum, providing inspirational leadership to curriculum area teams. You will be responsible for providing an outstanding student experience through high quality teaching, learning and assessment while ensuring the provision of first class student resources. Through effective leadership and management of your curriculum area and teaching teams the Head of School will ensure students are able to achieve their potential.
To develop and maintain a strong link between curriculum and college commercial teams to enhance student experience.
The Job Purpose is to:
- provide an outstanding apprenticeship/student experience through high quality teaching, learning and assessment
- lead the course team(s) and provision and drive a high quality student experience through all stages of learning journey
- be responsible for the recruitment, retention and achievement of apprentices and students
- provide an outstanding learning resource
- enable apprentices/students to achieve their potential and gain wider relevant skills
- enhance employability skills of students
- proactively engage in quality assurance and improvement
- provide pastoral and Tutorial support as required

To be considered for this role you will need to hold a formal teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) and a relevant Construction or related qualification at Level 3. You will also be qualified to degree level and ideally hold a specific management qualification. You will be experienced in managing budgets and implementing innovative curriculum developments. You will be able to build positive and productive business relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be able to demonstrate experience of developing and implementing actions plans to achieve agreed targets.
