The Head of Estates & Facilities's main purpose is to ensure the effective and efficient development and maintenance of the physical infrastructure, which supports the college’s strategic ambitions. This will include the development and implementation of a new College Estates Strategy.
They will manage all aspects of the college’s estate and related resources and facilities, including the estate team, IT team, cleaning team, and security functions. They will manage estates and IT projects across all 3 campuses, ranging from minor maintenance and refurbishment schemes to larger-scale capital developments.
A key responsibility is the effective management of health, safety, and environmental matters for the college. This involves ensuring that health and safety considerations are integral to any estate works planning, actions, and contractor oversight and that the college is in full compliance with statutory maintenance obligations, Health and Safety legislation, standards, and best practices.
The post holder will also act promptly and appropriately upon survey and external advice recommendations, such as fire risk assessments, condition surveys, asbestos surveys, legionella audits, disability accessibility reviews, and internal audits. They will seek opportunities to improve the estate's environmental sustainability and biodiversity and ensure that these are acted upon.
They will always provide visible and dynamic management to ensure we have a safe, inspiring, and sustainable estate and environment in which our college communities can work, study, and develop.
