We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Director to lead the areas of electrical, plumbing, engineering and business studies within the Technical Education and Skills Directorate.
We are looking for a person with the energy and drive to deliver an exceptional curriculum offer which supports the students within the area to make excellent levels of progress and access a range of aspirational next steps upon completing their time at college.
In this vital post, you will provide leadership and management of the area in ensuring all students have a high-quality learning experience and that an outstanding provision is offered. You will determine the overall direction and strategic purpose of the area in line with the College Vision by developing and implementing innovative curriculum initiatives to ensure the long-term sustainability and success of the area.
Reporting directly to the Deputy Principal, you will ensure the achievement of all targets relating to student recruitment, achievement, vocational and academic progress, and progression to further study/employment. In addition, you will effectively manage all allocated curriculum area resources to ensure operational cost effectiveness in the use of budgets, accommodation, and equipment.
You will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the people with the area by embedding a culture which fully aligns with the College values.
The Successful Candidate Must Have
- Significant experience of curriculum development in collaboration with a range of external partners.
- Significant experience of impactful quality enhancement
- Significant leadership and management experience within FE at an operational level (including management of people, resource and departmental budgets)
- Significant teaching experience in one or more of the specialisms offered within the curriculum areas (or a related subject/provision type)
- A teaching qualification.
- An understanding of challenges and opportunities within teaching and learning and across FE/Apprenticeships.
