This internal role is open to staff within the Digital Education Service only
Grade 6 (£30,487 - £36,024 p.a.) Depending on experience
This role will be based on the University campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
We enable the University’s 10 year strategy for the growth of fully online education, through the provision of specialist online learning design and development expertise. Our focus is on engaging, accessible and inclusive learning experiences, underpinned by innovative digital pedagogies and technologies. We work collaboratively with academic partners, learners and across our teams through an evidence-based, solutions-focused, design-led approach.
As a Course Development Lead in the Online Learning Team, you will bring a passion for online education to create innovative, inclusive and impactful online learning materials from subject matter content provided by academic colleagues and subject matter experts, and create effective learning experiences based on provided learning designs. You will draw upon your skills and knowledge of the effective and creative use of virtual learning environments, rapid authoring tools and document creation with applied understanding of instructional design and pedagogy, copyright and accessibility in online learning. You will bring an understanding of the constraints and benefits of a range of learning platforms and online learning tools to inform and shape the learning experience and provide specialist input where required to programme and project proposals, course design, authoring and quality assurance of final outputs from a content development and online learning environment perspective.
We are a large team, with a commitment to quality online education and learning from each other. We work flexibly to understand learners’ needs and academic colleagues’ aims and work in partnership to achieve the shared goal of an effective and enjoyable online learning experience that enables our students to succeed.
