About ARU
ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
ARU’s research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK’s Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK’s leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.
About The Role
The Apprenticeship Account Executive role requires a motivated team player who is eager to learn, and to contribute to the growth of ARU’s apprenticeship recruitment. You will be joining Degrees at Work’s Business Development team, who are responsible for the promotion, engagement, and recruitment to a range of ARU’s distance and work-based learning courses, including higher and degree apprenticeships, providing an excellent opportunity to learn and develop your skills and career within a well-regarded and experienced team.
Supporting the sales activity for a range of apprenticeships, you will be responsible for identifying new opportunities and leads within defined sectors and supporting the development of a pipeline of apprentices from a range of employers. You will represent the business development team at internal and external events, and manage timely responses to inbound apprenticeship inquiries, both verbally and by email. This will entail the provision of up-to-date information about courses and the funding rules to applicants and employers, ensuring all promotional materials are up to date, and guiding individuals in their navigation of the admissions and onboarding process.
We welcome applications from individuals with a degree, or equivalent professional qualification, or from those who have a willingness to study for a degree. Previous experience in a customer-facing business environment preferably in sales, is essential. In addition, a go-getting attitude, commitment to customer service, and excellent communications skills, are all vital attributes to be successful in this role. You will be enthusiastic and resourceful with a strong work and team ethic, capable of managing your own workload with some supervision. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, responding to inquiries following our customer service protocols and response KPIs. You will be proficient in MS Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams, and be confident using a range of social media tools to promote our apprenticeship activities. An interest in developing an in-depth knowledge in apprenticeship engagement and funding rules is essential.
Your work base will be at our new University campus in Peterborough. Public parking is available close to the site at preferable rates negotiated with the local council. Degrees at Work operate on a hybrid basis, working between home and the campus offices. You should be prepared to travel to any of the other campuses on occasion as required, and to customer locations outside of ARU’s core region.
Some out of hours working (occasional evenings and weekends) may be required from time to time to support with recruitment and open events.
