Job Introduction
As the appointed individual, you will oversee a direct contract with the Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), spearheading the management of an esteemed Adult Education Hub. With an established reputation, earning a "good" rating from Ofsted in 2020, your primary aim will be to elevate the service to an 'Outstanding' level.
Situated in the heart of the city, the Hub is a dynamic yet compact centre with a clearly defined curriculum tailored to meet the specific needs of the local community. Notably, it serves as a pivotal support hub for refugees and asylum seekers, acting as their initial contact point for educational programs.
Your responsibilities will include directing the commissioning of provisions that align closely with council strategies, addressing the city's economic and social priorities. This involves a particular focus on facilitating the progression of disadvantaged learners into further education and employment opportunities.
Additionally, you will oversee various projects, such as the government's adult numeracy program, ‘Multiply’, and a personalized 1-1 learning initiative ‘Step by Step’ aimed at enhancing English, mathematics, or digital skills for individuals residing in supported housing that have a history of homelessness or rough sleeping.
The Adult Education Hub will serve as your primary base of operations.
