A welcoming and inclusive school in New Addington is seeking a dedicated and experienced ELP Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis from September.
The Role
You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality English language provision to pupils who are new to English or require additional language support. The role will involve working closely with class teachers and support staff to ensure all learners can access the curriculum and make strong progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging ELP lessons tailored to pupils' needs
- Assess and monitor student progress in English language acquisition
- Support pupils with varying levels of English proficiency
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt curriculum content
- Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching EAL/ESL/ELP in a school setting
- Strong understanding of language acquisition strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds
- The ability to differentiate effectively and manage a range of abilities
