About the role
We are seeking to appoint a motivated andprogressive Pastoral Support Assistant (Assistant Head of House) to workalongside one of five Heads of House within our pastoral team, to supportstudents' learning by focusing on behaviour and attendance.
The successful candidate will play a key part ofthe school's pastoral system and show patience and commitment to developpositive attitudes and approaches to lifelong learning for all students.
The successful candidate needs to be a dynamic,self-motivated and well-organised individual who will help our young people toachieve the best outcomes and to make positive contributions to their emotionalhealth and well-being. You must also bean exemplary leader in dealing with staff, pupils, parents and outside agenciesfrom all different social backgrounds.
We are looking for someone who is:
• Dynamic, self-motivated andwell organised
• Excellent leader in dealingwith staff, pupils, parents and outside agencies
• Skilled to generatepositive approaches to learning
• Excellent communicationskills both verbally and written
All staff are expected to know what to do if theyhave concerns about a child, take on the responsibility for providing a safeenvironment and promoting children's welfare, undertake regular safeguardingand child protection training and, familiarise themselves with KCSIE part 1 and local policies andprocedures as directed by the trust/academy.

Blue Coat is a successful andoversubscribed school in the heart of the city of Coventry. As a Christianschool our intake draws from both the local area and across the city andsurrounding areas.
