Contract: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

The Teaching Assistant will:
- Provide teaching support to allocated students by planning teaching with the class teacher to achieve progression of learning.
- Identify clear learning objectives and determine how they will be supported and assessed.
- Assist teaching staff with lesson planning and have an understanding of the school curriculum.
- Support individual or groups of students during independent/group work.
- Promote good behaviour, deal promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encourage students to take responsibility for their own behaviour.
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality in dealing with requests and maintaining records.
- Follow the requisite procedures and legislation regarding confidential information.
- Liaise effectively with parents/carers, sharing and providing information relevant to the role.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and evaluation and assist in implementation.
- Be actively involved in the day-to-day management of the learning environment including responsibility for the care and preparation of teaching aids, equipment and materials as appropriate.
- Make appointments for parents and professionals to attend annual review and ensure that all necessary papers are available.
- Assist with supervision of students out of lesson times at lunchtime and break times and support children with interventions as appropriate.
- Accompany teaching staff and students on visits, trips and out-of-school activities as required.
- Help administer and supervise examinations when required.
