Qualifications
- Relevant Teaching Assistant Qualification or higher
- Good standard of education including English & maths (GCSE/Level 2)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working within a classroom setting and with primary aged pupils
- Excellent behaviour management skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and also work well as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Implement and undertake work in line with the Higher Level Teaching Assistants Standards
- Contribute to planning, preparing and delivery of learning activities and support programmes to individuals or groups of pupils
- Deliver and plan lessons for groups of pupils or whole classes
- Support the class teacher(s) within the school
- Promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal opportunities to learn and develop
- Assist pupils in developing academically, socially and personally
- Use behaviour management strategies in line with the school's policy and procedures, to contribute to a purposeful learning environment
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people within the school
