About this Role
George Salter Academy is a friendly, happy and vibrant academy, serving a multi cultural community. We are seeking a committed and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Numeracy to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in raising standards in numeracy across the school, supporting pupils both in class and through targeted intervention programmes. As a HTLA Numeracy, you will deliver planned learning activities, lead small group sessions and provide high quality numeracy support to pupils across KS3 and KS4.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and deliver numeracy-focused interventions for individuals and small groups
- Support pupils' understanding and application of mathematical concepts
- Deliver pre planned learning activities, occasionally covering whole classes where appropriate
- Track and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff
- Support pupils with additional needs, including those with SEND and gaps in numeracy skills
- Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and high expectations for learning
- Contribute to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment
All successful appointments will be subject to suitability checks in accordance with KCSIE, including identity, Right to Work, qualifications, online searches, prohibition check, two references and enhanced DBS check including Children's Barred List.

Hours - Term time plus 2 weeks (35 hours per week). Grade - Grade 6, SCP 20-25. Location - George Salter Academy, Davey Road, West Bromwich. B70 9UW.
Contract Type - Permanent. Closing Date - Sunday 31 May 2026, 5pm.
