About the Role
As a Secondary Humanities Teacher, you will deliver engaging and well structured lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring pupils remain motivated & supported throughout their learning journey. You will maintain high standards of teaching and learning while fostering a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
- Teach across a broad range of Humanities subjects including History, Geography and/or Religious Studies in line with the national curriculum and GCSE specifications
- Maintain a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and procedures
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Assess, monitor and provide feedback on pupil progress
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and leadership teams
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school specific policies at all times
Qualifications & Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Humanities within a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge across History, Geography and/or Religious Studies
- Experience delivering GCSE Humanities subjects and preparing pupils for public examinations
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Adaptable, flexible and confident working in a new environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
- ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply
