The University of Sunderland’s School of Medicine is soon to welcome its eight cohort of students and recently won Medical School of the Year in the Educate North Awards. With a track record of excellence in health education spanning almost 100 years, the University is well placed to contribute to the expansion of medical training and help to address the chronic shortage in some medical specialties including general practice in the Northeast. We have a significant focus on widening access and will deploy our expertise to ensure we recruit students from the communities they will ultimately serve.
Our programme allows medical students to learn within our state-of-the-art teaching and learning spaces, including outstanding laboratory facilities, the latest in high fidelity clinical simulation equipment and some of the best hospital and GP settings in England.
Sitting within the Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellbeing, the School of Medicine has a vibrant and growing research environment, strengthened by the Clinical Academic Training Office.
Your next opportunity
As a Senior Lecturer in Health Psychology, you will deliver high quality undergraduate medical education, training and research related to your area of expertise, and you will assist with medical admissions and assessment processes as part of diverse and welcoming team.
Please note that this is a fixed-term position for 25 months.
Is this you?
The successful candidate will hold an undergraduate degree and/or a postgraduate degree (usually a doctorate) in psychology and/or a related discipline and will have a demonstrable research portfolio. They will have up-to-date knowledge of current trends in psychology in relation to medicine. They will possess professional experience and/or experience of delivering teaching and learning in Higher Education.
