About The Role
We’re seeking a motivated, industry-experienced professional with strong knowledge of maritime and/or offshore safety training. You’ll be an excellent communicator with a proactive approach, able to manage your workload and build positive relationships with learners, colleagues and industry partners.
You’ll have solid organisational, IT and administrative skills, a commitment to high standards, and a supportive, learner-focused mindset. A passion for continuous professional development is essential.
You should hold a relevant industry qualification (e.g. Merchant Navy OOW or Royal Navy Warfare/Seamanship) and GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. A teaching qualification is desirable, or a willingness to achieve one. Additional certifications such as offshore safety (BOSIET/MIST), higher-level maritime qualifications, or instructional, lifeguarding or diving qualifications are advantageous.
You’ll bring hands-on industry experience in the marine or offshore sector, along with strong professional integrity and ideally an established network. Experience in teaching or training, working with regulators, and delivering or assessing programmes is desirable, as is supporting learner achievement and quality processes.
You must be comfortable working in outdoor and water-based training environments, be a competent swimmer, and able to deliver across a range of safety disciplines. A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion is essential.
