The School of Humanities seeks an enthusiastic and engaging scholar with experience of teaching Classical and Medieval Latin at all levels, and sufficient expertise to teach Medieval and Early Modern Palaeography at postgraduate level, for the academic year 2026–27.
As Lecturer in Latin and Palaeography you can expect to be involved in:
- Convening and delivering postgraduate modules in Latin and Palaeography
- Providing high-quality teaching through seminars and lectures, alongside timely feedback and academic support
- Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations in relevant subject areas
- Contributing to the activities of the Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Studies and wider academic community
What will you bring to the role?
- A PhD in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
- Strong expertise in post-classical Latin and medieval and/or early modern palaeography
- Experience of delivering high-quality teaching, particularly at postgraduate level
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, student-focused approach
