An opportunity has arisen for a motivated Lecturer in Paramedic Science to join our team at Oxford Brookes University, on a permanent contract.
Located within the School of Nutrition, Sport and Allied Health Professionals, we provide a pre-registration paramedic science BSc (Hons) programme. The Paramedic Science programme is primarily delivered at the University’s Marston Road site, which offers state-of-the-art simulation labs and teaching facilities. It is close to local clinical and research sites of excellence.
We expect our Lecturers to undertake academic and academic-related responsibilities to deliver high-quality Paramedic Science learning experiences. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and supervising undergraduate student research projects. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the school's management, scholarly activity, and developmental ambitions, and to take on a programme role as required.
The post holder must hold a pre-registration degree in Paramedic Science or an equivalent. Applicants must be registered with the HCPC as a Paramedic (international applicants are invited if they have commenced HCPC registration).
The post is for one full-time post (or equivalent fractional appointments) – working five days per week and supporting occasional weekend recruitment events and teaching.
Experience required for the post:
We are particularly interested in encouraging applications for our Lecturer post from candidates who have the following:
- a strong clinical background in paramedic practice.
- a track record of teaching/contributing to teaching and/or module leadership, preferably within a higher education institution.
- experience of research activity and/or supervising undergraduate student research projects.
- experience of practice educator supervision of pre-registration Paramedic Science students.
- possession of a suitable teaching qualification for a higher education setting (or willingness to complete in post).
