Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Skills Coach tosupport the delivery of the Level 4 Cellular Network Field Engineer Apprenticeship. This role is crucial in developing, supporting, and progressing apprentices, ensuring they meet competency standards within agreed timelines. Key responsibilities include delivering training, conducting scheduled reviews, coaching sessions, and maintaining strong employer engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with apprentices and employers, addressing concerns effectively.
- Manage a caseload of learners, ensuring timely progression and completion of tasks.
- Conduct remote learner coaching sessions every 4 weeks, working with apprentices to improve their technical and professional skills by assigning tasks and helping them gather evidence in the workplace that demonstrates their Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSBs).
- Conduct remote learner reviews every 12 weeks to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and ensure the apprentice is on track.
- Maintain accurate learner records, ensuring compliance with data protection, safeguarding, and audit requirements.
- Work with learners, employers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth apprenticeship delivery.
- Deliver remote training sessions aligned with the apprenticeship standard, providing apprentices with the knowledge needed for workplace application.
- Work with our apprenticeship team to coordinate training arrangements with subcontractors.
- Attend site observations at the apprentice’s workplace where necessary.
- Support learners in developing work that aligns with the KSBs of the standard.
- Prepare apprentices for their End-Point Assessment (EPA) to ensure they have every chance of success.
- Attend team meetings and ongoing professional development activities.
- Actively contribute to and uphold ITP’s safeguarding commitments, including promoting a safe environment for all learners and ensuring a "do no harm" approach.
- Undertake any additional tasks necessary to support business objectives and ensure high-quality training experiences.

Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
- Prior experience as an apprenticeship skills coach in required.
- Familiarity with the cellular network or telecommunications industry.
- Experience and knowledge relevant to the apprenticeship standard.
- Understanding of government-funded training programs, work-based learning, and awarding body requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Effective time management abilities.
- Active listening and customer service skills.
- Relevant industry qualifications aligned with the apprenticeship standard.
- Proficiency in online learning tools, Learning Management Systems (LMS), or digital assessment methods.
Desirable:
- Safeguarding and Prevent training (training provided if not already completed).
- Coaching or assessing qualifications (e.g., NVQ, TAQA, AET, or equivalent).
Behavioural Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Proactive and innovative approach to coaching and training.
- Team player and adaptable.
- Passionate about making a positive impact on learners' and the wider industry.
- Friendly and approachable, and able to create and maintain a supportive learning environment.
Other Requirements
- Full UK Driving License (preferred).
- Willingness to travel to apprentice sites and potentially stay overnight when required.
- Commitment to strict adherence to regulatory, compliance, and company policies, including Data Protection and Health & Safety.
- All employees working directly with apprentices will undergo a DBS check before joining the ITP.
